Magistretti, Vico (1920 - 2006)
The Italian designer graduated in architecture in 1945 and initially worked on urban planning projects in Milan, alongside his father. From the 1950s, he conceived objects and furniture fuelled by a constant research for ultimate simplicity. He masters geometric almost abstract forms and experiments new materials and shapes, being the first to design an elegant plastic chair, the Selena. 'I like concept design, the kind which is so clear you do not need to draw it. I have passed on plenty of my projects over the phone'.
